Whichever team wins this Final match will definitely earn their first ever FIFA World Cup title. Both Netherlands and Spain will be competing against each other, on Sunday, July 11, 2010. The most anticipated game in the soccer world is set to kick-off at Soccer City Stadium, Johannesburg, at 2:30 PM EST.

Updates on Netherlands

Netherlands, being the hottest team in the world has already shown what they’re capable of. They have already garnered 25 consecutive wins, ever since 2008. And now has the World Cup title to fight for, to continue their winning streak.

Their star player, midfielder Wesley Sneijder (who’s already been recently awarded with an Inter Milan UEFA Champions League title), has definitely played big in all their World Cup matches; and has successfully contributed 5 goals for all of Netherlands 6 victorious matches. He recently scored two goals back in their quarterfinal match against Brazil, and another goal against Uruguay. Another Dutch midfielder, Arjen Robben, who also just came back from an injury, was able to throw in a total of two goals for Netherlands. Although the Dutch are being contested to not playing well enough in their games, they have yet to prove at Sunday’s match against Spain, that they can indeed play at their very best.

We’ll just have to watch out for keeper Maarten Stekelenburg, as he’s been under a lot of pressure, especially after letting one goal through (in four consecutive matches); and two more goals from their recent game against Uruguay. He’s as great as Sneijder and Robben, but he’ll have to keep an eager eye on for the upcoming match.

The La Roja team has always shown much confidence in their star player, striker David Villa; and they owe him a great deal for getting Spain this far in the competition. Like Sneijder, he also has five goals to proclaim. Although these goals of his were also hard to get. Like with their quarterfinals game, Villa was able to score against Paraguay only at the 83rd minute, giving them a 1-0 win. He struggled a bit on there game against Germany, not until a header from Carles Puyol gave him a chance to close the deal. They won the semi-finals at 1-0.

Never underestimate Spain as it holds both good front and midfield plays. The La Roja team is definitely charged with the best midfielders (Andres Iniesta, Xabi Alonso and Xavi). Also watch out for keeper Iker Casillas, as he has never given up a goal since their knockout rounds.

The match against the Dutch and the Spaniards is going to be an exciting World Cup finale. But expect Spain to lead on this one, as they have an overall and excellent pitch of talents. Take note that they also have the top goalkeeper and top player for this upcoming match. Bet on Spain to be your World Cup 2010 champion’s.
